It has been a good day so far. We had a pretty good breakfast after the boys woke up kind of fussy. Juan even ate some food, which is not normal for him. He is not really a breakfast eater, but Andres would eat bugs and dirt if we put it in front of him. Shirley is the same every day: eggs, bread, and more fruit than she ever eats. She always thinks of her brothers, though, and brings them things she thinks they might like. But seriously, Shirley, no more papaya...nobody in our family likes papaya! She gets papaya every day thinking someone will like it.
Afterward, we kicked it in the room for a bit before heading to the pool at 10:30. Again, Andres and Shirley had a good time, while Juan sat on the sidelines enjoying his time there. He is getting closer to the water, though, actually putting his feet in the water today. Every once in a while I think that Andres will let go of my neck and tool around the pool, but the death grip stays. And I also think that Shirley will some day go into the deep end with Mami or Papi and let go of the side, but that will have to be in her time. She did have fun pushing me in the pool today, though. It was a new game to her and she laughed quite a bit. I had a good time there today, too, although the sun was powerful today and I am afraid I might have gotten a little too much. Janine brought the boys back for their nap today, so I stayed back with Shirley. She got to pal around with her buddy Gustavo for a bit, which I think she likes. It is nice for her to be able to play freely without worrying about Andres and Juancho. It is nice for Janine and I to just be able to watch her playing, too.
Right now Janine and Shirley are having coloring time, while the boys sleep for another ten minutes or so. Who knows what the afternoon brings, but it is now always an adventure. We are supposed to find out today which judge will be working our case in the system. Apparently there are better ones than others, and we are supposed to know if we got a good one today. Hopefully we did. Emmanuelle said that the good ones are interested in the adoptions and that they try to make them priorities. The others don't really care. Hopefully ours works out nicely.
Anyhow, I just thought I would drop a quick line. I hope all is well and I hope to hear from you all re: life outside of B-Manga.
In the immortal words of Kip Dynamite: Peace out.

regarding the papaya: it's pretty, of course she wants it.
it sounds like you guys are doing amazing, in my humble opinion. i imagine you get this question all the time, but i haven't found the answer to it- is shirley the twins biological sister?
florida was not very warm, except for one day, so that was sad. coming back to AK was easy though, since it was warmer here than our layover in Minneapolis. We are currently trying to get things together for going to laura's wedding in B-more in June. Until then, it's same old here in anch.
