Beginning

So I guess this is the beginning, at least according to the title above, so it must be a good place to start.
I am not sure, exactly, what I will be chronicling here; many ideas come to mind, many thoughts have passed, and perhaps some of them will be recycled, but in my opinion there is nothing wrong with recycling. Maybe this is just a way to voice thoughts, experiences, happenings in the world of the Shinns of Midvale. Maybe it is just a megaphone, a soapbox of sorts, a place to ramble, hopefully coherently, about whatever crosses my mind. I do hope that you enjoy it, though, that it is something that is not a waste of time, but rather something that is thought-provoking, brain-churning, endearing, entertaining, and informative. We'll see, I guess.
In the meantime, welcome...to Fanta Island (now where is Tattoo anyway...)

Scott "uno-dos-tres?" Shinn,
So, is this like Myspace for old people, or what? Glad to see you've been putting your "time off" to good use...
But seriously, congratulations on amassing a beautiful family, and how 'bout those Ducks!
I am now chopping off Phyllis' head with a chainsaw!
Fleece it out.

Hey Scott,
Wow, adoption, huh? Sounds terrifying to me. Then again, after a few hours with any kids I tend to turn into the Grinch anyway, so it probably wouldn't be so good. But hey, if God's leading you that way, good deal and good luck!

Yo Brotha,

Cool blog. Looking forward to reading it often. Great to see you guys over Christmas.

Karla and I can't wait to meet your kids (and for them to meet the crazy cousins from PA). I hope it's not too long! I'll have to take them to NYC and MSG so they become Ranger fans, baby!

I'll be turning to you for advice on raising a teenage girl since you will have been there, done that before me!

We're proud of you guys and truly admire what you are doing. May God bless the Shinnsters!

It's nice to meet an eco-baker. It's hard to find a good, economical source of free range donuts...they are much tastier when they're not shot full of hormones. And I'm extremely excited about your children and the chance to see you in the role of Papa.
