one week in Colombia...

I can't believe we have been here a week already...and at the same time, only a week...

I don't sleep well here, it seems. Oh well. As long as the kids do, which they do. The boys sprawl out on the bed as if they are coreographing a pro wrestling match in slow motion. A flying elbow drop from the top turnbuckle...Shirley did well sleeping in her own bed, and I think Janine is sleeping better without getting pushed around by Shirley, as per Janine's account Shirley is some sort of gymnast when she sleeps. Kids.

Today should be fun, as we will go to the park for a little while. Hopefully Joani will be driving the taxi for us and we can stop for some water and dish soap before we come back. After having him as our driver before and seeing how well he interacted with the kids, it was not as fun with the other drivers. He is also very helpful with keeping an eye on the kids. The park should be good, too, as we hopefully run some energy out of the kids. They seemed pretty sleep yesterday, even cranky at some points. Well, at least Andres did. At bed time, though, it was Juancho's turn to act out. Janine put them to bed last night, but I could hear the cries from the other room. He simmered down fairly quickly, though, and both boys were asleep in no time.

I am so anxious for you all to meet our children. I know that you all have been getting some idea of what they are like through our blogs and the photos that Janine has been posting, but truly they are so much more beautiful and wonderful than we could ever write. I don't think that they will have too much trouble meeting new people. Of course they are shy at first, but they warm up quickly and interact with others fairly well. Hopefully the photo albums that we have will prepare them for some of this, as we show them our families and our friends and part of our lives in Midvale. I am also hoping that they will make friends with the kids from Midvale with whom we have made friends. That would be nice and would ease the transition for our kids as well as the transition for the Midvale kids when we return (it will be much different for them, as well). I also wonder how they will react when Papi is gone five days a week at work. I suppose they will either be okay with it or will simply have to adjust to it, though, regardless of initial reaction. And PAKAK...oh man. We'll see about that one. I know they would love her, but I don't know how she will be with them when they are hyper and running around. Pak will have to learn that she is not number one. So Pak if you are reading this...Rufus learned, and so can you.

Well, everyone will get up soon, so I better get going. I hope you are all doing well.

Judges: I hope your trip was a great one and that going back to the frozen north is not a bummer.

Mr. Bowser: I had hoped that the Ducks would beat the Bruins in LA, but no such luck. They are good, though, in a way that I haven't seen since the days of Luke & Luke...but Carolina is better!
