does sunshine and eighty degrees get old, or what?

Another calm afternoon.

We got a call from Emmanuella this morning, as she recieved a call from the ICBF agency regarding some papers we needed to sign. So we quickly got the kids together, went to eat breakfast, and came back and changed into some nice clothes. Shirley wanted to go to the pool, but we had to explain to her that we needed to go sign papers first. She enjoyed putting on one of her dresses and the boys enjoyed their new plaid shirts, too. Emmanuella showed up a little after 10:30 (as I was coming up from the golf course, as one of our balls flew over the balcony...I did it...) so we piled into the cab for the 30 minute ride to our destination. Shirley seemed very reserved, very nervous as we drove; who knows what was going through her bright mind. The boys enjoyed seeing motorcycles and trucks, but for the most part sat still, relaxing, enjoying the scenery. After arriving, and some discussion with the taxi driver (not our usual driver Joani) about whether or not he was going to stay, we went upstairs to meet with the woman who placed our family together. We were ready for a longer stay, as Janine brought toys, juice, snacks, etc., but afte we each signed papers (documenting our intent to be parents of the children) we were told we were done and able to return to the hotel. We were surprised that it went so quickly, but not disappointed at all. So we went on the 30 minute ride back, with the kids much more animated (Shirley definitely seemed more relaxed) and interactive. Emmanuealla dropped us off and told us that we would need to go to the notary later today (4 PM) so she would be back by. We came back to the room, where I began lunch with the boys as Shirley and Mami got ready for some fun at the pool. So here we are, with the boys napping, Shirley and Mami splashing in the water, and me, relaxing, hoping to get some dry towels for the bathroom (the shower door has no seal and leaks all over). Hopefully soon. Anyhow, we will most likely get up and get moving here shortly, as we prepare for the next task.

Oh, and we were also told that our papers would start being passed around the court system on Monday, so that is good. Monday is initially when we were supposed to do our integracion, but things are moving a little quicker than we imagined. By no means does that mean we will finish earlier than imagined, but at least it is a good start. Hopefully we will get our regular driver back, too, as he is much better with the kids and has a much nicer personality. We will see. I think it is his day off today, but Emmanuella was going to try to get him to drive for us anyway.

Fuller: if you read this, I have not yet stepped on any toys, but have stepped in urine and cheese left in random places on the floor.

SV: I am glad you are getting good use of our computer and enjoying the environs. If we think of food, we will let you know before we come back.

Mrs. Chocolate: Thanks for letting me know about the videos, and feel free to send pics of Pak if you get a chance:).

Corinna: Please give Pakak some good rubs for me...I do miss her and the kids are anxious to see her!

Frog Brutha Jr.: Where you at?

to my sisters: I know you would all like to enjoy the sunshine and wonderful weather...but I miss the cool rain!

Mom: it is time to get your own email address...it is the 21st century...come on! ;)

Everyone: Yahtzee is a good game, I don't care what anyone says.

Clemens/Kanes: I guess you are all enjoying white sands right now? Have fun...not too much Dos Equis, now...;)

Hope all is well.
